  45. 1.      Overview
  46.  
  47.         This directory/disk contains the ELSA Display Driver for
  48.         the SPIRIT V.9 CAD application, running on Windows 95/98 and
  49.         Windows NT 4.0.
  50.         This file contains the newest information about the current 
  51.         driver release.

  55. 2.      Installation
  56.  
  57.         Please start program SETUP.EXE on the installation disk
  58.         and follow the instructions of the program.
  59.     
  60.     The SETUP automatically checks the SPIRIT 9 installation on
  61.     your computer and installs the driver into the SPIRIT 9 
  62.         directory. If SPIRIT 9 is not installed SETUP aborts driver
  63.     installation. 
  64.  
  65.         SETUP gets default directory from system registry:
  66.  
  67.            HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\softTECH\SPIRIT\9\Path="<path>"
  68.  
  69.     which for example may be "C:\ST9\SPIRIT".

  71.         SETUP changes some entries within SPIRIT 9 configuration files 
  72.         which are

  74.         - file DCAD.CFG in <d:>\ST9\SPIRIT

  85.           adds an entry for the ELSA SPIRIT 9 Display List Driver to
  86.           get it run with SPIRITs CONFIG9.EXE configuration setting
  87.       program.

  89.         The driver DLLs will be copied to the SPIRIT directory.

  91.     To uninstall the driver choose "Start\Settings\Control Panel".
  92.     Double click on "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Select the
  93.     "ELSA SPIRIT 9 Driver" entry and click on "Add/Remove" button.
  94.     This will call the uninstall program which removes all driver
  95.         files and registry settings from your system.

  99. 3.      Remarks / supported graphics boards
  100.  
  101.         The following ELSA graphics boards are supported by the
  102.     ELSA SPIRIT 9 Display List Driver:
  103.  
  104.          ELSA WINNER 2000PRO/X (no multiple screens with NT 4)
  105.          ELSA WINNER 3000-L (no multiple screens with NT 4)
  106.          ELSA GLoria Synergy (currently no multiple screens with NT 4)
  107.          ELSA Synergy II
  108.      ELSA GLoria II

  110.         Multiple screens are supported with Windows 98, NT 4.0 and 
  111.         Windows 2000, NOT Windows 95. An ELSA Windows GUI driver,
  112.     which supports multiple screens, is also needed.
  113.     With Windows NT 4.0 the GUI driver must support the new
  114.     POWERlib interface to run with multiple screens.

  195. 5.      Known Problems
  196.  
  197.         Please reinstall the ELSA SPIRIT driver after updating or
  198.         reinstalling SPIRIT because this overwrites current DCAD.CFG
  199.         and CRT9.LOG files.
  200.  
  201.         There are still some wrong colors in 256 color mode (8bpp)
  202.         if SPIRIT application gets the input focus and the drawing
  203.         area is to be restored. Please hit <Esc> key to clear up the 
  204.         display.
